NICK SOLLECITO

Nick Sollecito and his brothers founded Home Genius, Inc. in 1998 with a vision to craft beautiful handcrafted custom cabinetry locally in Swansea, MA. For 15 years the company thrived, and then in 2013 Horner Millwork and Home Genius merged and Nick joined the Horner Kitchen Design Team. Nick enjoys working with his clients to incorporate their favorite styles and colors into a kitchen design that is unique to them on a personal level. Nick is a great problem solver and enjoys the challenge of designing smaller kitchens. For example, many clients want an island in their design, but an island requires a lot of space for proper flow. This is why Nick emphasizes that it is best to get him involved in the design process as early as possible. Modest changes in the floorplan can make a big difference to the finished kitchen layout.

Over the years Nick has seen many changes in home and kitchen design. Today many customers seek an open floorplan and the kitchen has become the central gathering place in the home. Kitchens have become the most important element in entertaining, and homeowners have put a large emphasis on bringing together friends and family into the kitchen. When designing a kitchen, Nick feels it is important to follow the architectural style of the home otherwise the home looks disjointed and unpleasing to the eye.

The most memorable kitchen that Nick has designed was for a client that challenged him to design a kitchen that would take advantage of a spectacular waterfront view of Narragansett Bay. Nick designed a gorgeous island that incorporated a banquette that faced the water so the homeowners could enjoy their morning breakfast overlooking the sea.

Rebecca Campagnone has been a member of the Horner Kitchen Design Team for 5 years. Before joining our team, she worked in big box stores where she honed her talent for designing kitchens for a variety of demanding clients. Today, she is equally excited to work with homeowners that walk into our Somerset showroom looking to create their dream kitchen, as she is to help our residential builder customers transform their projects to the next level. Throughout the years Rebecca has seen many changes in the industry. Years ago homeowners preferred stained cabinetry such as cherry or oak, but now painted finishes are more in demand. When it comes to door styles, Rebecca has seen a shift from traditional raised panel doors to flat panels which offer a more transitional look.

As an avid cook herself, Rebecca is talented at guiding her clients through the different functions of the kitchen to establish a layout that works for the busy family members that will be using it every day. Her own personal dream kitchen would be bright with clean lines and lots of counter space! Rebecca enjoys building a relationship with each and every customer. Each kitchen that she creates is truly unique because it is designed specifically for each client with great care and attention to detail.

TOM CUSTADIO

Tom Custadio has been part of the Horner Millwork team since 1992! Over the years he has had many roles in the company, but Tom truly found his niche when he joined the kitchen department in the late 90s. Tom’s vast knowledge of the building industry makes him great at tackling tough design problems. In addition to the basics of cabinet, countertop, and appliance selection, Tom helps his customers with all aspects of the project including space planning, lighting, and choosing styles that perfectly incorporate into the rest of the home’s interiors.

Tom understands that every homeowner interacts with their kitchen differently. He guides his clients through the many work zones of a kitchen (meal prep, clean up, table, messaging, etc.), and then designs a kitchen that meets their many needs. Today’s cabinet manufactures offer many space-saving organization and storage solutions available built into their cabinets and drawers. Tom enjoys taking advantage of these innovative tools to create a kitchen filled with useful hidden surprises.

Mike Sollecito has been working for Horner Millwork for nearly 6 years. Mike began his career as an electrician and home audio/automation installer, but then ten years ago he changed his career focus to follow his passion for fine woodworking. Since then he has developed an impressive portfolio of custom cabinets and luxury kitchens that he has built and installed over the years. Starting from a young age Mike was involved with renovating homes from the ground up, and now has a wide range of residential building skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, and much more. This wide array of talents makes Mike an invaluable resource during the critical planning stages of kitchen design and execution.

Mike’s most memorable kitchen that he has built and installed to date was for a home in Portsmouth, RI. The kitchen featured a huge solid walnut island with a curved bench seat that faced a 180 degree view of the bay. It was gorgeous!

Mike’s favorite design trend is the rustic industrial design aesthetic. He loves to incorporate reclaimed and repurposed items that were once forgotten and to transform them into something new like lighting fixtures or home décor. Being tech savvy, Mike values the increasing role that technology now plays in the kitchen design process. Supplying clients with a 3D rendering of their kitchen design significantly helps them visualize the finished space. Always trying to improve the building and design process, Mike is currently working on a new measurement process to try to catch all the imperfections on the jobsite that can cause problems with the finished kitchen installation.
